This school is not easy to get into. Even though it is a public school, you have to qualify and pass a lottery after that. To get into Oxford Academy, students must live in the school district and take the Oxford Academy entrance exam that is offered every year to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.


Oxford Academy runs an intensive honors curriculum that requires students to take a minimum of four Advanced Placement courses to graduate. Ninth- and 10th-grade students can choose from four career pathways to supplement their core courses: biomedical science, engineering, business/entrepreneurship, and software systems and development. Oxford Academy boasts a culturally diverse student body, with many students coming from homes where English is the second language. Student groups include National Honor Society and the OA Fiddlers.


This school is far above the state average in key measures of college and career readiness. Oxford Academy’s 4-year high school graduation rate is 99%. Percentage of graduates who meet UC/CSU entrance requirements is 99% and SAT 11th grade college readiness rate is 98%.


At this school, more low-income students are graduating eligible for state college or university compared to the state average for all students. 99% of overall students graduate at this level and 99% of low-income students (36% of the student body) graduate at this level.
